J.B.Q – Wednesday Nights
We are changing things up in our Kid’s Ministry! Starting now, instead of doing a monthly points winner; everyone will have a chance to earn JBQ Bucks. They earn these by: bringing their JBQ folder, studying their questions, etc.
They can spend their JBQ Bucks once a month in the JBQ Store OR save them up for a class trip or a class treat.
The Holy Spirit brought this question up to me: “Are you walking resurrected?” Now I had to sit and think about that for a minute. Am I walking resurrected? What does that even mean?
First to be resurrected you have to be dead. Was I dead? Yes I was! (Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins) Okay, so I was dead, my old way of life, living without Jesus had killed me. I was literally a dead woman walking.
Now, was I resurrected? Well, according to (Romans 6:5 and Col 2:12) says that I was buried with Jesus and I was resurrected with Him!) Those are powerful scriptures but does it ring true in my life?
Is my spirit resurrected? I have no doubt about that! I know when I asked Jesus into my heart that my spirit was saved and I was on my way to Heaven… but have I allowed my soul – my mind, will and emotions to be resurrected? No, I haven’t.
I think everyone has certain areas of their life that they are strong in, that they can beat the enemy in a battle every time, but at the same time we all also have our weak areas.
My weak areas, I just left them dead in the tomb, there was half of me that was out of the tomb; living, walking and talking resurrected but this other half of me kept dragging the alive part back to the grave.
I am not walking fully resurrected because I let part of my soul remain dead.
You know the area in your own life that needs to be resurrected (if you have one!) I have many; fear, uncertainty, anger, past heartache, etc. But the next question was; what did God want me to do about it?
He led me to the story of Lazarus. We all know the story very well, but God wanted me to receive a fresh revelation of it. By the time Jesus got to Lazarus, he was dead and quite frankly; he stunk (John 11:39). But that didn’t stop Jesus, just like in my life; the things I try to hide that make me feel dirty that I don’t want God to know about, He steps right up and wades through the stink to make us clean. Jesus reminds Martha that He told her she would see the Glory of God if she believed, now Jesus yelled for Lazarus to come out of that grave! AND HE DID!I have no doubt that if Lazarus wouldn’t have been bound up he would have RAN out of that tomb to Jesus.
The Holy Spirit is leading me to take a good look at my life and as he calls my name and shows me another area in my life that needs to be resurrected, I want to not turn and try to hide it, I want to run out of that grave to Him!
