From The Pastor’s Desk: Spirit of Suicide

All night long I wrestled in the spirit with something very evil. Upon awakening I felt so tired and hopeless that it was extremely hard to get motivated for today. I felt the Holy Spirit bring truth to my spirit but there was a struggle between truth and lies, life and death. All of a sudden, a part of the revelation came forth that this was a spirit of suicide at work.

Upon arriving at the church and going into prayer for our church family then moving out into the communities more understanding came forth. I want to share with you so we can partner together with the Lord against the enemy!

Here is what I heard: the devil is unleashing a spirit of suicide like never before and it will touch people you would not think it would, so be led by ME and not by what you think to stop this attack in its tracks!

Then the Lord showed me it is suicide prevention month: “September National Suicide Prevention Month – there are an average of 123 suicides each day in this country. It’s the tenth leading cause of death in America — second leading for ages 25-34, and third leading for ages 15-24. In order to create awareness and strengthen the fight against suicide, the entire month of September is Suicide Prevention Month. Participate in the fight by getting involved with local organizations and listening to those who need help.”

One of the slogans is: “Connect to Protect”. In this time of COVID-19 and all of the separation it has caused with extreme division we must be led to connect with those under attack and be there for them! In the New Testament we see how Paul was used to save life! Paul prevented the suicide of the Philippian jailer and won him to Christ:

*Acts 16:25-34 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. 26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed. 27 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and WOULD HAVE KILLED HIMSELF, supposing that the prisoners had been fled. 28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. 29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, 30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. 32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. 34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

As followers of the Lord Jesus Christ we are to let Him use us to bring hope! Open your mouth as the Lord fills you will speak and offer change to those who will hear!
