There is danger and deception in distractions.

Here are three thorns that keep us out of God's peace:

1. Cares of this world. *Anything separating us from Jesus*
2. Deceitfulness of riches. *When we start wanting what others have*
3. Lusts of other things. *Longing for something forbidden*

¹⁹ Then the cares and anxieties of the world and distractions of the age, and the pleasure and delight and false glamour and deceitfulness of riches, and the craving and passionate desire for other things creep in and choke and suffocate the Word, and it becomes fruitless.
